Barbara Schauß

Germany

« For me, representational and abstract paintings play a synonymous role. When I look at my work, I have to say, "That's it!" »
Barbara Schauß is an established German painter whose works have been shown in regional and national exhibitions. Her love of art began in childhood when she discovered her father's books featuring world-famous paintings. Inspired by the Impressionist movement, Schauß was particularly drawn to Monet's "Fields in Spring" and the famous water lily ponds. She also experiments with abstract painting, using both oil and acrylic. She is now also inspired by contemporary Asian art. Her works are colorful, but also sometimes monochromatic, and she aims to create a harmonious overall atmosphere through her art.
