About this artwork
EROSION was created using acrylic on cardboard, which was mounted in a vintage frame from an antique market. The painting follows the style of Abstract Expressionism. Its appeal lies in the contrast between modern painting and a venerable frame (see additional photos). The painting measures 40cm x 50cm, and the frame measures 58cm x 68cm.

Barbara Schauß is an established German painter whose works have been exhibited in regional and national exhibitions. Her love for art began as a child when she discovered her father's books of world famous paintings. Inspired by the Impressionist movement, Schauß was greatly moved to paint after seeing Monet's "Fields in Spring" and famous lily pads. She also experiments in abstract painting, working in both oils and acrylics. Schauß is compelled by colors and aims to represent an overall atmosphere, whether harmonious or discordant, through her work.
