About this artwork
HERITAGE is a semi-abstract water landscape that associates the primeval Middle Rhine Valley. The artist was inspired by William Turner's landscapes of the Rhineland. The sage-green water is highlighted by light and orange-red color nuances. A castle in the haze of the Rhine is indicated on the right-hand side. The artist worked in many layers with earth, among other things, and thus achieved a beautiful, haptic, archaic effect.
The title HERITAGE… alludes to the Middle Rhine Valley, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The painting is unframed and ready to hang. Nevertheless, nothing stands in the way of a simple or theatrical framing.

Barbara Schauß is an established German painter whose works have been exhibited in regional and national exhibitions. Her love for art began as a child when she discovered her father's books of world famous paintings. Inspired by the Impressionist movement, Schauß was greatly moved to paint after seeing Monet's "Fields in Spring" and famous lily pads. She also experiments in abstract painting, working in both oils and acrylics. Schauß is compelled by colors and aims to represent an overall atmosphere, whether harmonious or discordant, through her work.
