About this artwork
The painting was created using action painting technique and could be assigned to Abstract Expressionism. The title refers to the Irish dance stage show "Riverdance" and is at the same time a wild body of water that impressed the artist with its rapids. The green and turquoise hues indicate early summer. The painting is painted with acrylic on canvas and not yet stretched on stretcher bars. If desired, it can be tensioned.
« For me, representational and abstract paintings play a synonymous role. When I look at my work, I have to say, "That's it!" »
Barbara Schauß is an established German painter whose works have been exhibited in regional and national exhibitions. Her love for art began as a child when she discovered her father's books of world famous paintings. Inspired by the Impressionist movement, Schauß was greatly moved to paint after seeing Monet's "Fields in Spring" and famous lily pads. She also experiments in abstract painting, working in both oils and acrylics. Schauß is compelled by colors and aims to represent an overall atmosphere, whether harmonious or discordant, through her work.
