About this artwork
Tranquility depicts the enchanting, tranquil atmosphere of a water lily pond. It was created using acrylic paint applied in layers to canvas, which was mounted on cardboard and fitted into a frame with a passe-partout (see additional photos). The image area measures approximately 50cm x 70cm, and the outer dimensions of the frame are 67cm x 87cm. The painting is ready to hang. It will be shipped without glass.

Barbara Schauß is an established German painter whose works have been exhibited in regional and national exhibitions. Her love for art began as a child when she discovered her father's books of world famous paintings. Inspired by the Impressionist movement, Schauß was greatly moved to paint after seeing Monet's "Fields in Spring" and famous lily pads. She also experiments in abstract painting, working in both oils and acrylics. Schauß is compelled by colors and aims to represent an overall atmosphere, whether harmonious or discordant, through her work.
