WOUNDED was created in connection with the Ukraine war, which can be seen in the color scheme. Line-like markings indicate deep wounds. The work was created in numerous layers. By using ink, I combine Asian and Western contemporary art. The work could be classified as Abstract Expressionism. Barbara Schauß is an established German painter whose works have been exhibited in regional and national exhibitions. Her love for art began as a child when she discovered her father's books of world famous paintings. Inspired by the Impressionist movement, Schauß was greatly moved to paint after seeing Monet's "Fields in Spring" and famous lily pads. She also experiments in abstract painting, working in both oils and acrylics. Schauß is compelled by colors and aims to represent an overall atmosphere, whether harmonious or discordant, through her work.
