She mixes the perfect details of beautiful models, changes the eyes and lips in the painting, and distorts their proportions to change the meaning of the image. A distorted mirror is born, which is, in fact, a grotesque and disillusioned reality, born out of the dream of perfection.

The bold, arresting pieces by Hungarian artist Barbara Sipos demonstrate the struggle of pursuing artificial beauty ideals created by consumer culture. The artworks, which are created through the medium of oil on canvas, show the artist's attempt to paint a mirror to society and make people think about other people. By changing facial details to distorted proportions on her models, Sipos creates a distorted mirror which reflects the grotesque side of the quest for perfection.
