About this artwork
Het concept wat ten grondslag ligt aan de serie -Dialoog- is dat de werken twee elementen bevatten die een uitwisseling aangaan met elkaar. De één 'spreekt' tegen de ander en vice versa. Dit werk gaat over de dialoog tussen een lege abri van een bushokje en de regisseursstoel die ervoor staat.

Bard Sloven is an established Dutch painter who has exhibited his work nationally. Fascinated by painting and its phenomenological translation power, he conducts close pictorial studies of the basic phenomena of light, shadow, reflection and opacity. He always works in series so that he can investigate common subjects from different approaches and perspectives. Such subjects are typically found his immediate surroundings, such as windows, baths and the painting process undertaken in his own studio. Sloven's series contain paintings that are individually fascinating in their own right, while also retaining mutual qualities leading to an impressive overall unity.
