About this artwork
This painting is about the wall in my studio wich is smeared with paint. Like a antropologist i'am dissecting details from the wall, searching for certain structures and compositions. Then i intrepeted and transform it into a new work. This is actually a serie in the Doku: serie.

Bard Sloven is an established Dutch painter who has exhibited his work nationally. Fascinated by painting and its phenomenological translation power, he conducts close pictorial studies of the basic phenomena of light, shadow, reflection and opacity. He always works in series so that he can investigate common subjects from different approaches and perspectives. Such subjects are typically found his immediate surroundings, such as windows, baths and the painting process undertaken in his own studio. Sloven's series contain paintings that are individually fascinating in their own right, while also retaining mutual qualities leading to an impressive overall unity.
