About this artwork
This mixed-media artwork depicts a goddess of fertility, intertwining contemporary art with alchemy, biology, and surrealism. Drawing from symbolic art and ancestral memory, I use Prismacolor pencils—favored by Judy Chicago—on cardboard and a foam frame that echoes organic, biological forms. The piece is rooted in the archetypal theories of Carl Jung and Joseph Campbell, who observed that in moments of crisis, we access not just personal experience… but a vast mythological psycho-system. Just as unicorns may appear in dreams during drastic times, I conjure archetypal goddess-protectors in my art, channeling them in pivotal moments. These figures, born from my own energy, connect me to the deep, ancestral reservoir Campbell described—empowering both the artwork and its beholder.
Baroque Anarchist, trained in both the theatrical and fine art traditions of Russia and the UK, works across painting, installation, costume, and stage environments. She fuses Baroque mastery and old-world oil techniques with contemporary materials, creating immersive spaces where sculpture, bioengineering, and visual symbolism coalesce. Her art radiates transformative energy, exploring the alchemy of flesh, myth, and technology—awakening viewers to the beauty and vulnerability of bodies entangled in ever-shifting material and symbolic worlds.
