About this artwork
In 'They Never Left' I confront the lingering presence of my past.
The shadowy figures represent memories that refuse to fade, following me silently through time.
I aim to capture the tension between who we were and who we are becoming.

Credentials
- Works on commission
Bart Hamelink, a self-taught Dutch artist, crafts stories using acrylics, ink, and markers. His style meshes raw, expressive lines with cartoonish figures, presenting bold colors in stark relief with striking textual elements. Throughout this playfully honest artistry, Hamelink explores the prismatic spectrum of human emotions, social struggles, and the beauty in vulnerability. His pieces, imbued with both humor and poignancy, coax viewers into experiencing resonance, reflection, and a distinctive edge of discomfort.
