About this artwork
In this work, I explore the duality between gentleness and power, between woman and her wild instinct. The panther symbolizes inner strength, that part of oneself often contained but always ready to roar when necessary.
The woman, upright and proud, embodies awareness, self-control, and indomitable beauty. The butterflies mingling with her hair evoke lightness, transformation, and rebirth. Together, they tell the story of the fragile balance between… vulnerability and power, instinct and intuition.
Through this painting, I wanted to represent the Afro-descendant woman as a guardian of her own world: free, strong, spiritual, and deeply connected to nature and her totem animal.
