About this artwork
Horizon Study III depicts the horizon as a layering of space, light, and depth. Overlapping color zones in turquoise, blue, and light, misty tones create a calm, expansive visual effect in which the horizon appears as a soft transition.
The darker, denser area in the lower part forms a counterpoint to the open, lighter zones above. This creates a balanced tension between heaviness and lightness, near and far – a calm, contemplative work about vastness… and the perception of landscape.

In my studio near Osnabrück, I translate emotions, encounters, and memories into abstract paintings. I work with acrylics and oils, layering, reducing, and allowing an open dialogue to emerge between the artwork and the viewer.
