About this artwork
A suspended work as if the surface were no longer a painting but a window onto the inner water.
The color moves in the depths: liquid emeralds, blues that surface like silent currents, veils that open and close like breathing. There is no horizon, no clear boundary: only immersion. The material is fluid but restrained. We perceive light stratifications, overlapping transparencies that generate space and depth. In some places the pigment thickens,… elsewhere it dissolves into milky vapors. This is a painting that doesn't describe water: it evokes it, it makes it happen.
The simple, natural wood border is subtle, unobtrusive, yet seamless. It's a thin margin that defines the canvas without closing it off, allowing color to take center stage. That warm border engages with the work's cool greens, creating a delicate contrast between nature and abstraction.
Beata Kozak is an artist based in Italy, where her works have been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions. Her pictorial research explores the landscape in two dimensions: the natural one, made of water, light, and movement, and the interior one, linked to emotions and memory. The artist draws inspiration from her own self-discovery, from the fragile beauty of the world, and from the poetic and literary texts that accompany her vision. For her, painting is "an essential and symbiotic bath in the infinite sea," an act that transforms color into a meditative and fluid space. Her compositions, recognizable for their intensity and lyricism, are created with oils and acrylics on canvas.
