About this artwork
Blue . Ephemeral Essence Diaries.
Very often when I am painting, I know that there are parts of my work that I must sacrifice for the sake of the composition as a whole. Before continuing I take photos of the interesting parts, ephemeral then, but that I have decided to reconvert into something different, new and lasting. These portraits, diary of recovered fragments of my stroke, represent the inner world of my thoughts on that particular day when… I was working on a painting that became a different version of my self.
• Glicée limited edition of 8. Intervened transfer with acrylic, pastel and graphite. Varnish and UVA protection
• Hahnemühle William Turner paper (310 g / m²). Matte watercolor texture, natural white, handmade style.
• Signed and numbered on the front and Certificate of Authenticity.

« I explore the essence of art and am intrigued by the "why" of works that last over time, as well as the why of those that fall into oblivion. »
Begoña Lafuente is a painter and illustrator based in the Netherlands whose works have been widely exhibited internationally, as well as in Spain. For her, art is a timeless conversation where not everything is said and "the essential is diluted." Lafuente describes her works as a game of combinations that combines materials, textures and colors, improvising new routes for the senses. In addition, she integrates movement and contrast in her compositions to cultivate visual and emotional tension.
