About this artwork
Momento Chulesco is one of the pieces in the Ephemeral Essence Diaries series.
Capturing the essence and uniqueness of a person in a static image is a challenge in itself, especially when working with semi-abstract portraits. The attitude, the look, the gesture, the way of moving, say a lot about a person. Capturing the gesture and this moment that defines her as cocky, synthesizing even the smallest expression has truly been a challenge. I smile… every time I look at the portrait. It's no one in particular but it could be each of us in that bully moment of "To me... Plín" that we all have.
About the material:
• Limited edition Glicée of 8
• Type: Giclée Fine Art Print
• paper: Hahnemühle William Turner (310 g/m²). Matte watercolor texture, natural white, handmade style paper.
• 60x 40 Edition
• Signed and numbered on the front with Certification of Authenticity.

« I explore the essence of art and am intrigued by the "why" of works that last over time, as well as the why of those that fall into oblivion. »
Begoña Lafuente is a painter and illustrator based in the Netherlands whose works have been widely exhibited internationally, as well as in Spain. For her, art is a timeless conversation where not everything is said and "the essential is diluted." Lafuente describes her works as a game of combinations that combines materials, textures and colors, improvising new routes for the senses. In addition, she integrates movement and contrast in her compositions to cultivate visual and emotional tension.
