Collection "Cats apARTE".
Study on the perception and weight of color, which floods everything in the composition, and the disruption of space due to silhouettes that we easily recognize, like the cat in this case. The figure of the cat adds a layer of life, spontaneity, while the painting that evokes Rothko alludes to introspection and the search for a transcendental experience. A wink of humor that returns the pleasure of the senses in the contemplation… of the abstract to the mundane plane.
With this work I intend to pay homage to this great artist associated with American abstract expressionism, a visionary of a whole movement that has revolutionized art as it was conceived and that we now assimilate almost as a classic.

Begoña Lafuente is a painter and illustrator based in the Netherlands whose works have been widely exhibited internationally, as well as in Spain. For her, art is a timeless conversation where not everything is said and "the essential is diluted." Lafuente describes her works as a game of combinations that combines materials, textures and colors, improvising new routes for the senses. In addition, she integrates movement and contrast in her compositions to cultivate visual and emotional tension.
