About this artwork
Soul Ascension shows the soul rising joyfully and laughingly from a body that has become almost a statue. Two faces respond to each other: one immobile and ceremonial, imbued with calm and memory, the other open, free and luminous.
Between precise gestures and broad, fluid brushstrokes, the painting constructs a movement of elevation where matter becomes a foundation and breath is freed.
The palette of nuanced blues, powdery pinks and warm tones… vibrate together, the light seems to spring from within, like a living energy, while light impasto and layering create depth and tactile resonance.
The floral motif at the neck acts as a heart, a portal between body and spirit. The swirls serve as an energy conduit, and the whole celebrates liberation as joyful rebirth rather than loss, translating through pictorial matter an experience of luminous transformation.
