About this artwork
Ici, beaucoup d'épaisseur et de texture. La peinture a été appliquée à la brosse et au couteau sur une base traitée au brou de noix.
Depuis peu, je découvre une autre façon de travailler la matière.
En voulant "reprendre" la toile réalisée la veille, j'ai retravaillé les zones où la peinture n'était pas encore tout à fait sèche.
La consistance, l'élasticité de l'acrylique n'est plus la même et le rendu final est différent et intéressant.
Les trouées… bleues viennent éclaircir la toile et c'est exposée à la lumière qu'elle prend toute sa dimension.

Benoît Guérin's work is resolutely abstract, where colors and materials meet in an instinctive and spontaneous impulse. His creative process, marked by urgency, alternates between construction, erasure, and recommencement.

Working primarily with acrylics, he sometimes combines inks and walnut stain, blending the colors directly on the canvas. Painting on the floor, he physically immerses himself in the creative process, where each gesture—scraping, crushing, projecting—gives birth to vibrant and textured works.
Based in Vouillé, in the Deux-Sèvres region, he draws on the singular and irrational pleasure of painting: "Let yourself be carried away by your own feelings, as I let myself be guided by the material." Each canvas becomes a space of freedom, open to personal interpretations.
