Beautiful Silks were traded all along the Silk Road in Central Asia.Many were very colorful and sumptous and traded for huge prices.
You can still find pieces of silks from the Silk Road in the bazaar in Istanbul - here some pieces are arranged in a spiral shape - and it makes it's own new pattern.
The painting has a small symbol on the front and it is signed on the back.

Berit Bredahl is an artist based in Italy whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Belgium, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland. Most of the key themes in her compositions are influenced by art from diverse cultures which she encountered during her travels. The intricate and vibrant patterns and textures present in Bredahl's art as undoubtedly influenced by her former career as a fashion and stage costume designer. She creates with acrylics and gold foil on canvas.
