Bernard Šimunović is a Croatian artist living and working between Germany and Croatia (Dalmatia). His paintings have been exhibited and collected internationally, in the United States, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Croatia.
Across more than two decades of practice, line has remained the central concern of his work, not as outline or description, but as a structural element that organizes space, presence and relationship. His paintings move between figurative clarity and formal reduction, exploring how a single contour can hold both fragility and weight.
The current ongoing body of work, Relational Lines, focuses on the figure as an open constellation, defined less by what is shown than by proximity, distance and interruption. What emerges across the work is a quiet visual language in which restraint becomes its own form of intensity.
