About this artwork
In my work, I use acrylic paints to create a balance between abstraction, impressionism, and cubism. The various forms and colors merge to form a cohesive image that exudes tranquility and contemplation. This painting is a dialogue between geometry and emotion, with each color and line speaking its own language. In a home, it brings an atmosphere of stillness and depth, encouraging reflection and inner balance.

« On the last night of our lives, we are asked about love. »
Bernard Šimunović works with the line — not because he chose it, but because it was always there.
His practice is rooted not in theory, but in craft. Long before the academy, he knew the point as a precise, irrevocable gesture — set into material, obligating toward what must not be forgotten. After studies in Sarajevo, interrupted by war in 1992, and their continuation in Bielefeld, his work moved through surrealist oil paintings, figurative reduction, and finally to Relational Lines.
In Relational Lines, the figure has not disappeared. It has become relationship. Two lines approaching, touching, missing each other. What becomes visible is not the body — but what arises and remains between two people.
Works held in the collections of Akademie Schloss Solitude Stuttgart, ZiF Universität Bielefeld, and The Hong Kong Jockey Club. Press: Capital, Manager Magazin, FOCUS, Stern, ICON, Vogue, IDEAT.
