About this artwork
In my work, I used vibrant acrylic paints to create a scene that is timeless and evocative. My goal was to depict the deep interconnectedness and complexity of human interactions. The use of abstract, figurative, impressionistic, and cubist styles allows for a layered interpretation that speaks personally to each viewer. This painting brings a vibrant, thoughtful energy to any room it hangs in.

Bernard Šimunović works with the line — not because he chose it, but because it was always there.
His practice is rooted not in theory, but in craft. Long before the academy, he knew the point as a precise, irrevocable gesture — set into material, obligating toward what must not be forgotten. After studies in Sarajevo, interrupted by war in 1992, and their continuation in Bielefeld, his work moved through surrealist oil paintings, figurative reduction, and finally to Relational Lines.
In Relational Lines, the figure has not disappeared. It has become relationship. Two lines approaching, touching, missing each other. What becomes visible is not the body — but what arises and remains between two people.
