1,5° – Ein Spektakel
2015 beschloss die Weltklimakonferenz in Paris, die globale Erwärmung auf 1,5 Grad zu begrenzen – ein symbolischer Wert, wohl wissend, dass das Ziel kaum erreichbar ist. Der Beschluss diente eher als politische Geste der Industrieländer gegenüber dem globalen Süden.
Das Werk greift dieses Narrativ auf: Zwei abstrahierte Hände halten eine Weltkugel wie eine Monstranz, deren Zentrum strahlt – und zugleich zerfällt. Die geometrischen… Formen aus Ton erinnern an ausgetrocknete Flusslandschaften. Das Innere wird vom Äußeren durchdrungen, das Zerbrechen ist sichtbar. Um das Scheitern zu überdecken, wird der Ton mit Gold überzogen.
Am Ende der Konferenz wird das "Ergebnis" mit großer Inszenierung gefeiert. Doch unter Schwarzlicht zeigt sich: Es war bloß Fassade.
Wir liefern eine Schwarzlichtlampe mit – zur Aufklärung.
