About this artwork
In this work, Bernd Rosenheim allowed color to flow across the canvas.
"The effects of color, and especially the absolute, detached from the conventional motif
Colour, are well known: the psychological, the decorative and the space-forming. To create a space with the help of the distance values of colors seems to me to be the truly spiritual possibility of painting, whose purely psychological effect evokes feelings, its purely decorative effect… only evokes visual enjoyment - both border areas of art. If it is true that art means the realization of a conception of the world with spiritual, ie formal, means, then in the case of fine arts the creation of a spiritual space is the most important task; because our entire experience takes place in spatial dimensions. In this respect, "non-representational" painting differs in no way from representational painting."
