About this artwork
inspired by landscape of, de Koninck. In fact, the basis of this painting is a landscape painting dated 17th century. Discovering the abstract qualities. The format is related to my own. All parts in the painting are easy to reach for me. The height is my horizon, the material is as close as possible to nature. Oil paint is made of primarely linseed oil. Here in France I am surrounded by them. Fog, just above ground, tilting landscape, poisened…
colours, ice, night, old mud.

« Sand, loam, chalk, a filthy cloud- gray-green not, mirroring in dark water, olive green, high tide, hidden space. »
Bert Wils is a painter and photographer based in France whose works have been exhibited nationally. He describes his art as being a response to the world around him. For Wils, his compositions must communicate on a deeper level with viewers, which is why he refers to them as "mirroring". Through which, the viewer is reflected. He most often creates using oils, acrylics, and cotton on canvas.
