About this artwork
I make my frames and canvases myself because I feel connected to the resulting picture during this process.
In this work I worked with bleach, pastel and acrylic on linen, it captures the moment of an inner revelation. The woman appears as if from another sphere - her gaze gentle and knowing, as if she carries the memory of hidden truths within her. The flowing colors around her seem like energetic veils that slowly lift, as if she is just about… to cross a threshold, not without looking back.
On her shoulder she carries a floral, wing-like symbol that stands for transformation. The interplay of light and shadow reveals a being that not only sees, but understands. She is a guardian of knowledge, a wanderer between worlds - the initiate.
