About this artwork
This semi-abstract contemporary city scene captures the first hour of a day. The street lighting is still on, and the city's calm contrasts with the dramatic sky.
Here the artist's particular painting technique is strongly visible. The use of drawing instruments to create clear volumes contrasts with the softness of the lights, adding a figurative touch.

« Each time I left the idea of painting, my life was in disarray, and each time I returned, things found order and light, so from my experience, art is my home. »
Bianca Prettau is an experienced artist from Belgium who has exhibited internationally. Working primarily with acrylic and using alternative tools in place of brushes Prettau takes inspiration from traditional painters such as Anthony van Dyck but has developed her own practice to demonstrate a contemporary approach. Her portfolio showcases her vast talent, from her series of impressive and dynamic urban landscapes to her beautiful figurative pieces of equine art.
