About this artwork
The work depicts a complex interplay of internal and external forces within a dense, multi-layered pictorial space. Areas of color and linear interventions structure the space as a system of individual energy fields. These represent key areas of life from which humans draw strength.
In the lower right, four lines mark the family core as a stabilizing element. In the upper right, a more open space unfolds for personal interests and creative practice.… The area surrounding and below the blue space represents career and vocation. In the upper left, a lighter structure alludes to friendship and social connection. A cool, blue area emanating from the center locates the self as a dynamic starting point.
White lines connect the fields and make their interdependence visible. The image remains an open model and invites the viewer to reposition their own priorities and sources of strength.

Birgit Egen, a master student of Prof. Markus Lüpertz, has lived and worked for over 20 years on Lake Ammersee near Munich. Her work unfolds along three main themes: the artistic exploration of emotion and fleeting moments, an experimental materiality, and the transformation of discarded materials into meaningful pictorial carriers imbued with history. The creative process follows an intuitive, organic dynamic that allows for spontaneous developments and produces works that explore the boundaries between form, texture, and emotion. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including at the Copelouzos Family Art Museum in Athens, the Museum Stift Klosterneuburg near Vienna (where she was a finalist for the St. Leopold Art Prize), and at ArtExpo Paris. Solo exhibitions have taken her to Göttingen, Regensburg, and Munich, where her works were also presented in Marienplatz with the support of the city.
