About this artwork
In my work, I am also interested in moments and aestheticizations of the ephemeral. For example, I often combine motifs of dead animals from baroque hunting still lifes with image elements that are reminiscent of the aesthetics of old typescripts. For these, I use an old typewriter to design abstract and seemingly hermetic character strings, letter patterns and text sections on tissue paper. In terms of media and typography, these image-text elements…
are on the one hand linked to an aesthetic of the ephemeral. On the other hand, they are located as citations, codes and character strings in the field of tension between pop culture and the natural sciences.
