About this artwork
In this work, I have captured the complex dynamics of human presence and urban structures using Indian ink. The figure, partly tangible, partly blurred, symbolizes the constant interplay between identity and environment. It brings a contemplative energy into your home, inviting you to linger and reflect. Here, feeling and space merge into a poetic narrative.

Birgit vom Dorp is an artist living in Essen, trained in painting, graphic design, and clothing technology. She works primarily with acrylics, charcoal, and watercolors, oscillating between expressive figuration and psychological portraiture. Her works are characterized by gestural layers, strong color contrasts, and a deliberate blurring of the lines. With her expressive style, she conveys intimacy, vulnerability, and the complex depths of human emotion—between visible presence and hidden memory.
