The composition is divided into two dominant horizontal fields: a warm, muted gold upper section and a cooler, pale gray-white lower section. This split creates a sense of balance—almost like horizon and ground, or memory and silence. The gold area feels rich but subdued, not flashy; it carries subtle variations… and worn textures that suggest time, erosion, or layered history. The lower section, by contrast, is quieter and more diffuse, with soft blending that evokes fog, mist, or fading presence.
Around the edges, there’s a rough, expressive border of mixed tones—blues, browns, whites—that feels almost like the “raw” process showing through. It frames the cleaner central blocks and adds tension between control and spontaneity. The brushwork overall suggests layering and revision rather than a single decisive gesture.
