About this artwork
He works on his paintings in groups, and there's usually one panel that is looser and more experimental. This is one of those pieces, where afterthoughts morph into something unplanned. The little "windows" in this painting remind us of how important these humble openings into the outside world really are.

« The world is broken, and I deal with it by painting, which makes it an act of hope. »
Björn Bauer is an award-winning artist based in Germany who has exhibited his works in the United States. His abstract paintings express what it feels like to live in this current time, translating our shared experience of the acceleration of technological, societal, and environmental crises. Bauer applies visual cues within his compositions, such as a buildup of fingerprints on a glass screen, or the interruption of an image through a failing digital signal.
