About this artwork
Goodbye Blue Sky is now complete, this piece was originally my first painting. However over the years it sat and watched me pursue other works. I bought this piece back to my attention, revised, re looked at the meaning and spent another few months bettering and making adjustments. This piece is close to home for many personal reasons. It's underlying message, hence the title, 'Goodbye Blue Sky'. A woman can be seen holding her child, the only passage…
out is symbolized by blue birds. The sign of freedom beyond the window.

« A creative mind is just an abstract concept of how we actually feel or how things make us think, this is why I create. »
Blake Youngman is an artist based in Australia whose paintings have been exhibited nationally. In addition, his art has been featured in publications such as Art Market Magazine. Youngman's surrealistic take on figuration is also layered with symbolism, as he believes that this generation is becoming further detached from reality. In his artistic process, he most often employs acrylics, oils, and pastels on canvas or paper.
