About this artwork
A painting for the novel of the same name.
Leah is almost a child when she is accused of the evil eye and is about to be judged. Her wet nurse escapes with the girl before the captors can catch her. After seven years of fleeing, they reach the county of Gehrenburg, where they are welcomed in a friendly manner. However, Leah's true origins must never be known.
To escape the hustle and bustle of the village, she often seeks peace in nature. She takes… her flute and follows the narrow path up the mountain. There she plays her melodies in the silence of the forest.
Acrylic on canvas. I sometimes used small pieces of dried acrylic paint for the flowers.
Signed on the reverse, final varnish, ready to hang.
