About this artwork
This etching explores memory through the language of mechanical repetition. The image was printed using letterforms, referencing the logic of a typewriter or early ASCII graphics, where images are built from symbols rather than lines. In this process, the act of printing becomes an act of remembering- fragmented, imperfect, and mediated by technology.
I was interested in how memory behaves when translated into a system of signs. Like old text files… or faded printouts, the image feels both present and distant at the same time. The architectural form emerges slowly from the field of characters, mirrored by the water below, as if recalled rather than observed.
