Since bursting onto the art scene in 2007 Bortusk's work has appeared and livened up numereous streets, galleries and home walls around the world.
Fed up with people being angry, disappointed, sad and disillusioned with life, Leer sees it as his duty to brighten… up the world and spread some happiness. Over a decade Bortusk has developed a signature voice and style, creating manic, euphoric creatures (his monsters) plus other lively abstract pieces, videos, TV shows and numerous psychedelic assemblages of Neo-Pop-Art-Brut.

Bortusk Leer is an artist based in the Netherlands whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, in England, France, Norway, Scotland, and the United States. Through his art, he endeavors to put a smile on people's faces, as well as his own. Leer's vibrant and distinctive monsters are created in the spirit of fun, play, and spontaneity. He does not limit himself to any particular medium and often incorporates collage, toys, and found objects in his compositions.
