About this artwork
Joey's confronting gaze was a result of how I had seen her chastise an old lech in a piazza near to the studio. Lace thrown over her arm like a toreador, I represented Joey as I had now appreciated her. Not as an English teacher or a yoga instructor, but someone who believed we should all be treated with respect.
