About this artwork
Salcombe harbour on a gloriously sunny summer's day with the sailing boats out on the water. Having spent many years painting urban scenes and cityscapes, Brian embraced the opportunity to spend some time in the stunning South Hams and was immediately inspired by the scenery. The water in Salcombe is the most spectacular blue thanks to the sandy bottom of the seabed. In this piece Brian plays with light and shadows dancing over the water.
