About this artwork
As she poured these soft, beautiful beachy colours of liquid acrylic onto the canvas, she saw reefs and atolls developing, reminding her of Shark Bay along the Coral Coast of Western Australia. She developed this idea, by the way she tilted and swirled the colours on the canvas. There is beautiful patterning throughout the painting, which would look great in a holiday or coastal home or anyone wanting to dream of the ocean. The paint was allowed…
to flow down the sides of the canvas, to cover and create further decorative effect. This small painting would be ideal where a larger painting could not be hung or in a group setting. Please check out a video of this painting on her Instagram account: brigittesfluidart which gives a better idea of the beautiful colouring and intricate patterning.

« My motto in life: If I’m not creating, I’m not living! »
Brigitte Ackland is a talented British painter based in Australia who has exhibited her work throughout both countries. Previously a full-time ceramic and mosaic artist, with additional experience in photography and embroidery, today she primarily applies her skills to painting. Living on the west coast of Australia heavily influences her work: the white sand, red earth and swirling tropical seas of the Indian Ocean dance along her canvases and leap towards the viewer. Ackland ultimately seeks to create a sense of visual harmony in her painting, and hopes they resonate with people.
