This piece has been created on stretched canvas over… a handcut wooden oval frame. This is not a mass-produced item, so there are imperfections which add to the authenticity and uniqueness of the artwork. The canvas has two coats of universal primer before the textured paste was added. There are many coats of acrylic and enamel paint, including a rich and beautiful metallic gold with two coats of gloss varnish to seal and protect the artwork. It comes ready-to-hang with a Certificate of Authenticity and is signed on the back by the artist.

Brigitte Ackland is a talented British painter based in Australia who has exhibited her work throughout both countries. Previously a full-time ceramic and mosaic artist, with additional experience in photography and embroidery, today she primarily applies her skills to painting. Living on the west coast of Australia heavily influences her work: the white sand, red earth and swirling tropical seas of the Indian Ocean dance along her canvases and leap towards the viewer. Ackland ultimately seeks to create a sense of visual harmony in her painting, and hopes they resonate with people.
