About this artwork
A playful collage created with layers of gold leaf foil and acrylic skins on a painted background. Careful consideration was given to the placement of each element and how they related to each other. The composition is both balanced and pleasing with great depth, texture and visual interest. Please not the dimensions include the floating frame that the painting is in. The frame is made of natural pine and can be stained or painted if required.

Brigitte Ackland is a talented British painter based in Australia who has exhibited her work throughout both countries. Previously a full-time ceramic and mosaic artist, with additional experience in photography and embroidery, today she primarily applies her skills to painting. Living on the west coast of Australia heavily influences her work: the white sand, red earth and swirling tropical seas of the Indian Ocean dance along her canvases and leap towards the viewer. Ackland ultimately seeks to create a sense of visual harmony in her painting, and hopes they resonate with people.
