About this artwork
There is a great deal of spontaneity and energy when using liquid acrylics, with the artist's original idea often evolving and changing, dictated by the movement of the fluid paint as it is pulled by gravity or chemical reactions between the different colours and their viscosity, almost as if it has a life of its own. The results can be surprisingly organic and natural. The tropical colours common in Queensland inspired the colour palette of this…
painting, creating a lively, natural, landscape reminiscent of a waterfall in a tropical setting. The paint has flowed naturally down and covering the sides, so it doesn't need framing. There is much surface texture which adds further visual appeal.

« My motto in life: If I’m not creating, I’m not living! »
Brigitte Ackland is a talented British painter based in Australia who has exhibited her work throughout both countries. Previously a full-time ceramic and mosaic artist, with additional experience in photography and embroidery, today she primarily applies her skills to painting. Living on the west coast of Australia heavily influences her work: the white sand, red earth and swirling tropical seas of the Indian Ocean dance along her canvases and leap towards the viewer. Ackland ultimately seeks to create a sense of visual harmony in her painting, and hopes they resonate with people.
