In my artwork, I combine abstract and figurative elements using silk screen printing to represent the dynamic energy and challenge of climbing. The process and emotions of climbing are reflected in the taut lines and bold shapes. The colors and textures are meant to embody the complexity of the sport as well as the mental and physical effort it requires. Brigitte Böhme is a painter who only began her artistic career at the age of 36. Working with acrylic and permanent markers is her preferred medium, and she has tried out almost every technique. She does not commit to a particular style and prefers loose, bold brushstrokes. Böhme focuses on depicting people, animals, mythical creatures or is inspired by her dreams. Each of her pictures represents a challenge to color and expression - a passionate confrontation with seeing, as she discovered it at the private art school in Hamburg.
