The cupola on top of the lath house botanical garden is mirrored in the reflecting pool in the heart of San Diego's famous Balboa Park. The early 20th century building is elegant and beloved, the cupola an ornament of its time and place. The reflection is disrupted by raindrops, their ripples, and the pull of currents beneath the surface. A celebration of rain in a drought, an elegant detail largely unnoticed by passersby.

Bronle Crosby is an American artist whose paintings have been extensively exhibited in the United States. She describes her almost photographic pieces as abstracted glimpses of realism. Crosby finds inspiration from glimpses into nature and the transitional instants as things change, and refers to these moments as “the betweens”. Her artistic process involves focusing on "little corners of the big picture". She creates using oils on canvas or linen.
