About this artwork
The rough trunk of a palm is mirrored in the surface of a pond. Its sharp edges where fronds have been trimmed away are pulled and distorted by the raindrops' ripples as they collide, overlap, and widen on the surface of the water. The cloudy, rainy sky is reflected in soft, muted colors on the surface.

« My paintings hold on to ephemeral moments in nature. There is a meditative quality to close observation, a sense of connection to all life. I hope to awaken that awareness. »
Bronle Crosby is an American artist whose paintings have been extensively exhibited in the United States. She describes her almost photographic pieces as abstracted glimpses of realism. Crosby finds inspiration from glimpses into nature and the transitional instants as things change, and refers to these moments as “the betweens”. Her artistic process involves focusing on "little corners of the big picture". She creates using oils on canvas or linen.
