About this artwork
After decades of Abstraction, the interiors are about painting light and creating space. "Ausencia." is the Spanish word for absence. I am drawn to the mystery of empty spaces that suggest a narrative to which we don't quite have access. The chair is an anchor to that narrative, suggesting the absence of a human presence.
