About this artwork
"Morii," from the Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows is defined as the desire to capture a fleeting moment. Morii, like other paintings from this series is intended to suggest that truth is elusive, that memory exists, but is is imperfect, that dreams exist but they are ephemeral. There are answers here but they lie just out of reach.

Credentials
- Works on commission
« My work is about communication, not merely self-expression. I strive to edify, to elevate, to speak to an underlying truth, in essence, to change the way we look at things. »
Bruce Dean is an experienced painter and draftsman based in the United States whose works have been widely exhibited nationally. Having always been drawn to mystery, he describes his compositions as an attempt to access imagery and an essential aesthetic that all humans share, at a pre-language level. Dean's striking pieces are created using oils and graphite on wood or canvas.
