About this artwork
In this piece, I try to capture the vibrant spirit of a birch thicket in full summer. The scene was located off Graminia Road forty minute drive south of Edmonton, Alberta. I paused my trip to the south there for a break and was impressed by the serene yet dynamic energy of nature in full bloom. I have really enjoyed my job as an environmental scientist, as it has offered me plenty of inspiring scenes to paint and express in visual terms, as well…
