About this artwork
The Indigenous boatman was so surprised to see the Orcas including a very young calf coming to accompany his small boat enroute the Great Bear Rainforest. He had never seen such a phenomenon. I was deeply moved to be in the presence of the orcas as always. It it is a life changing encounter but to have a calf included at such incredible proximity is simply thrilling. one the very feel of being in the pod of orcas. The colour resonates to the crown chakra, our center for all knowing, collective consciousness. In native culture, the whales are known as the record keepers and considered a deeply spiritual being. Amethyst is a stone of spirituality and creativity while the aventurine helps soothe suffering and release of childhood trauma. The foil creates the illusion of the shapes moving as a pod of orcas would. Brilliant! This is a soothing, calming painting with beautiful fluidity.
